Making a donation to ILSA helps the association ease the burden on people who are frail aged and living with disability in the community. As a registered charity donations are tax deductible.
Each year we receive dozens of requests to help contribute to the purchase of specialised mobility equipment. Over the last 10 years ILSA has donated tens of thousands of dollars to meet gap payments for mobility equipment under our small equipment grants program. (link to small equipment grant program). On other occasions we have funded individuals with small amounts of in-home disability support hours when their current government funding or aged care support package has been inadequate – in some instances dangerously inadequate.
While we appreciate that the NDIS will fund people’s needs more precisely, there will still be a disconnect between the funding available for a standard mobility item and the item a client needs which sometimes must be modified to fit a person’s specific disability. That is why ILSA will continue to support those people who are disadvantaged and living on a pension with disability who rely on the goodwill of charities to help them cover the costs of expensive mobility modifications.
ILSA is a not for profit public benevolent institution and registered charity with Deductible Gift Recipient status. We will issue tax receipts on all donations made. Any donation is welcome.
