ILSA underwent the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider approval and registration process in late December 2016 in order to continue to support Clients located in Mackay and surrounds. The NDIS is still being progressively rolled out in other parts of Queensland. A link to the expected NDIS rollout dates of other regions can be found here.
ILSA is currently registered to provide NDIS support services in Mackay and Cairns. Cairns residents will need to wait until NDIS funding is available in their area, expected from 1 July 2018.
Clients wanting to check their NDIS access eligibility can check the NDIS website. Clients already receiving Disability Services from the Department of Communities, or Housing and Support Program (HASP) services from Queensland Health are considered “defined” clients and will be automatically eligible for the NDIS.
ILSA is currently undertaking NDIS preplanning work with current clients and eligible clients in Cairns and surrounds. This aims to help ensure that their needs are fully considered (and quantified) prior to meeting with an NDIS Planner (who will develop their NDIS Plan of supports). Often because of changed life circumstances, Client’s needs have changed / increased, yet State based funding has remained the same. Through pre-planning, Clients can be proactive in qualifying their current support needs more thoroughly. We would be happy to meet with anyone needing support in this area. Please contact our office for NDI Pre-planning assistance.
ILSA’s specific approved NDIS registrations categories include:
The NDIS sets a price limit for the categories of supports a provider is able to charge Clients for. These are set out in the NDIS Pricing Guide. One of the first things ILSA does before providing support to a Client is to develop a budget for the supports we have been asked to provide. Often we can tailor prices a little and sometimes charge less than the NDIS set rate for certain categories of support services based on a client’s particular situation. This is because providing a larger range of particular supports to many clients and operating efficiently affords costs saving which can be passed on to Clients. Before providing support, ILSA will meet with a Client to ensure the budget estimate and contents of a Service Agreement are fully explained and understood by both parties.
