Feedback from our Clients over the years helped ILSA commit to providing Home Care Support services for older people who have entered into the aged care system.
Currently we only provide this service in the Cairns region.
My Aged Care Home Care is available as coordinated packages of services over 4 levels. ILSA offers support under all the Home Care Packages including:
Our support staff are well trained to cater to meet the needs of people living with disability and people who are frail aged who require support to maintain their independence in their own home. The range of Home Care services we offer include:
My Aged Care provides a taxpayer funded subsidy towards the various packages of Home Care. This subsidy is paid to an approved Home Care Service provider and will depend on the level of care a Client has been assessed to receive. It also depends on whether a Client is required to pay an income tested care fee (determined by the Department of Human Services) It is very likely that the total cost of support a Client needs will not be covered by the subsidy alone so clients may be asked by ILSA to contribute to the total costs of support provided. This can be determined in further discussion with the ILSA Home Care Coordinator.
The My Aged Care system was significantly reformed in February 2017. As a result subsidised Home care support funds can be transferred to another provider if this is the choice of the Client. However exit fees may also be charged so when considering changing providers, so Clients should discuss these exit fees with their existing provider.
The My Aged Care Assessment Team to contact in Cairns is:
An aged care assessment nurse can meet with you to talk about the service levels available to meet your specific care needs. If you have received an approval letter from My Aged Care you can look online for support providers in your area who can provide your package assignment.
